Savings account or current account: which is right for you?

A quick guide to choosing between a Cairo Save Account and a Cairo Personal Current Account, based on how you actually use your money.

Choosing the right account starts with how you use your money day to day, not the label on the account.

Ask yourself three questions. How often do I move money in and out? If you pay bills, send transfers or use a card frequently, a current account is built for regular activity.

Am I trying to build a buffer or grow savings? A savings account is designed to hold funds you touch less often, usually with a more favourable rate on the balance you keep.

Do I need cheque or transfer facilities for salary or business use? Salary and business-related activity is usually better suited to a current account.

Cairo Personal Current Account: available in four currencies with no minimum operating balance and free incoming EFTs and RTGS. A flat-fee variant is also available for predictable monthly costs.

Cairo Save Account (UGX): designed to help you build a balance over time, with account opening handled in branch or through your relationship team.
